The Eagles placed starting left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve with a bone bruise in his right knee, out a minimum of four games. Dickerson was rolled up on in practice a few weeks ago and played through it in Sunday's 24-22 win over Washington before the move; he called his own performance in that game a "complete liability." Rookie fifth-round pick Drew Kendall is the leading candidate to start in his place, and coach Nick Sirianni said "we've won a ton of games with Landon, and there's a lot of good things that he can do."

Dickerson was one of the linemen whose 2025 absences (along with Lane Johnson and Cam Jurgens) coincided with Barkley's yards-before-contact falling from 3.8 — best among backs in 2024 — to 1.7. A full, healthy line was part of the case for a bounce-back season under new OC Sean Mannion's zone scheme. Kendall is a rookie fifth-rounder making his first career start at left guard, on a line that was already banged up a year ago when Barkley's per-carry efficiency cratered.

Porter Jr.-Steelers contract standoff turns into trade talk
The Porter-Steelers contract standoff has tipped into trade talk. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Pittsburgh is now open to moving the cornerback and that Porter is open to playing elsewhere, with the Detroit Lions among the teams that have been in contact. Porter missed Pittsburgh's Week 1 loss to Atlanta with a back injury.

Porter's back injury and the trade buzz are two separate threads running at the same time — the injury cost him Pittsburgh's Week 1 loss to Atlanta, and a trade would just relocate him to another team's cornerback room. Corners don't carry offensive usage, so there's no direct fantasy angle on either side of a deal.

Colts WR Keenan Allen's court date arrives in OWI case
Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen has a court date Sept. 16 in the OWI case stemming from his Aug. 30 arrest in downtown Indianapolis. Police said they found his vehicle parked in a no-parking zone, observed signs of intoxication, and booked him on two misdemeanors: operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or higher, and operating while intoxicated in a manner that endangers another person. The Colts said at the time they were "gathering more information" and had no further comment; no discipline from the team or NFL has been announced.

Allen played every offensive snap he was healthy for in Week 1, working 36 of Indianapolis's 54 snaps and pulling in all six targets thrown his way. None of that changes with the charges — there's no suspension, no roster move, nothing from the team or league. The case now moves to a court date the same day the charges were filed, and until there's a ruling from the Colts or the NFL, his role in the offense is unaffected on paper.
Jets' receiver room thins as Omar Cooper Jr. goes week-to-week
Rookie first-round WR Omar Cooper Jr. sprained his ankle in the first quarter of the Jets' season-opening win over Tennessee and is considered week-to-week, with hope he's back within about four weeks. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick strained his groin on the sixth defensive snap of the same game and is expected to miss at least one game. With Cooper out and veteran Tim Patrick already on injured reserve, the Jets signed WR Sterling Shepard and WR Tyler Johnson to the practice squad and promoted CB Jordan Clark to the 53-man roster.

Garrett Wilson led the Jets with 7 targets on 75% of offensive snaps in the opener, a 30% share of the team's 23 pass targets, and turned it into 6 catches for 79 yards. With Cooper sidelined for multiple weeks, the closest thing to a No. 2 outside receiver right now is Adonai Mitchell, who saw 3 targets on 69% of snaps against Tennessee; Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith combined for two targets on limited snaps and would be the next in line for extra reps.
